It was her first pumpkin patch visit. I didn’t take a lot of photos as it wasn’t a planned shoot. We were there to mainly have fun and enjoy the activities. I just brought my camera along, hoping to swoop in with some shots if the opportunity arose.
Well, the opportunity was rare, because there was so much going on and she was constantly distracted. Mostly of the time she showed us a half-hearted, “what? huh?!” expression.
Regardless, we had fun. We also enjoyed the little kids’ train ride around the park. While riding the train, I realized that I loved these weekend/kids’activities. It’s not just because of our baby Sky, but I truly love the activities themselves, whether it’s a stroll around the shopping mall, a carousel ride or a train ride. And yes, we’ll have more fun things to do together when she’s bigger.
I think when we get older, we forget how to enjoy little silly fun here and there. What if spending time with your kids is not a responsibility, but an opportunity for you to bring out the inner kid in you and let him/her play too?
I understand parenting is not for everyone, but if you know how to enjoy it, it can be very rewarding. Of course, it’s even more rewarding when it’s with the right partner.
