I really want to do this shoot with you and Sky. But by the time you’re normally home, it’d be too late.
Ok, I’ll see what I can do
And just like that, we did this shoot.
The truth is I bought her this turquoise tutu skirt at Target; I thought it was really cute and I wanted to do something with it. I had a location in mind and how the photos were going to look like.
Most of the times, before any photoshoot, planned or not planned, I would visualize the photos first, and then the shoot happened. I love the process of visualizing a creative work in your mind and then actually making it come to life. Isn’t that how most things are made?
While I was editing these pictures, I realized this was the style I wanted for all my photos: simple neutral color palette, simple outfit and background, lots of negative space, the main focus being on the expression, the bond and the moments.
I always admire photographers who can create photos that tell stories, seize moments and convey emotions. It’s something I will always strive for in my own work.
